Good evening Martin, I picked up the writing box yesterday and was very pleased with the results of your work. You have certainly managed to reduce the impact of what was very distressed and brittle leatherwork on the lid. The colouration is much nicer and the scarring is hardly visible from further than ten feet. And the lock now works. Thanks very much for a very skilful refurbishment. Regards, Tony

Dear Martin,
Martin, we have just spoken following my receiving back my Papworth style London Tan briefcase which you have just refurbished generally for me, together with the specific repair you’ve carried out to the handle. I am absolutely delighted with the results and despite the case being 18 years old (and the only gift from my ex-wife I have kept!!) it was much treasured and has travelled all over the world with me. You were very good in explaining what you would do to the case before I sent it to you, you kindly called when you received it to talk through what you were going to do to it and kindly sent photos on completion to ensure I was happy with the results before you couriered the briefcase back to me. A perfect result and very well worth the money. One is so often disappointed in the service one receives, so it has been a delight in dealing with a skilled craftsman such as yourself. My best wishes to you and for the future ongoing success of your business. Please feel free to use any or all of the above and any or all of the photographs in your testimonial page. Thank you again. Hello Martin
Dear Mr Ashworth, I want to thank you for the wonderful restoration you achieved on my very rare 19th century Royal Company of Archers Kilt Belt. Her Majesty The Queen’s Personal Bodyguard in Scotland. I had spent a great deal of time trying to find a craftsman who could possibly restore this 150 year old belt, it was only mere chance, or fate, that i found your workshop through a Noble friend who had used you in the past, the restoration is very sympathetic and i can hardly believe how wonderful the outcome really is. Thank you for all your hard work. I remain sir The Lord Roland Camster KtGC. OM

Hi Martin, just a short note to say a big thank you for completing my bespoke gun slip. The wait was well worthwhile and the quality of finish is everything I was expecting, having spent a few hundred pounds over the years to see yet another gun slip fall apart or be slightly compromised on certain features this slip to my design ,along with your input should last my lifetime and be a talking point when seen.Finding a leather gun slip of 54 inches long to fit a 10 bore with extending Choke was impossible so I had to start searching the internet for somebody to make me one. It quickly became apparent after fruitless calls and e-mails that although many promise a bespoke service, few actually do. It transpires many slip carcases are imported in and finished off, adding very little in the way of artisan craftwork and all looking very similar & predictable Cue Martin Asworth: Martin was extremely affable from the outset and after a few e-mails and phone calls we hammered out a detailed plan of attack, sizes, finish, handle placement, sling design and zip placement, length. Martin’s attention to detail is refreshing in this day and age, I would have no hesitation in recommending his quality of work and I would go as far to say that I will be proud to say ,,,,,See my Slip, that was Made by Martin Ashworth… Kind Regards Cameron
